ROCK SPRINGS -- Adam Lynn Porter, 49, of Rock Springs died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, in the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City of liver failure. He lived in Evanston for the last year.
He was born Jan. 7, 1967, in Vernal, Utah. He was the second child of Boyd and Judy Porter. He grew up in Rock Springs.
Mr. Porter married Amber Plemel. They had one daughter, Stevie Lynn. They later divorced.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His interests included working with his hands. Mr. Porter started an automotive body and paint repair business. He also worked for the Bureau of Land Management as a firefighter and at the Rock Springs/Sweetwater County Airport with his friend Chris Stassinos.
Other interests included helping people, fishing and hunting for arrowheads.
He is survived by his daughter Stevie Lynn Rall and husband, Cody, of Brighton, Colorado; granddaughter Kendyl June; parents Boyd and Judy Porter of Rock Springs; brothers Lance and Lonn Porter of Rock Springs and Larry Porter of St. George Utah; sister Lucretia Porter of Rock Springs; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Grant and Maurine Porter, John Adams and Elma Killian and husband, Clint; aunt Judy Adams; and sister Lanette Fernandez.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial services for will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Rock Springs LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar St., Rock Springs.
