Alice Izetta Stephens Rock Springs - Alice Izetta Stephens, 80, of Rock Springs died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Deseret Health & Rehab in Rock Springs. She was born December 1, 1934 in Bridgeport, Nebraska, the daughter of John William Garton and Martha Alta McNabb Garton. She attended schools in Nebraska and graduated from Bridgeport High School with the class of 1952 She married Howard W. Stephens December 27, 1952 in Bridgeport. He preceded her in death July 25, 1995. She was a member of the VFW in Cheyenne, and the Methodist Church in Sawyer, Kansas. Her interests were her children and grandchildren, reading, animals, fishing, and music. Survivors include her son John Stephens and companion Peggy Shuster of Rock Springs; daughters Lonetta Cooley, Martha Prelle, Edith Ramage and husband Kevin all of Rock Springs; brothers Gerald Garton and wife Donna of Alliance, Nebraska, Ray Garton and wife Sheila of Grand Island, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Martha Garton, husband Howard Stephens, son Donald Ray Stephens, twin children Janet Lee and Jackie Lee Stephens, son-in-law Calvin Cooley, brother Alvin A. Garton, grandchildren Misty Ann Leeper, Jennifer Allen Prelle, John Stephens and A.J. Goffena, great-granddaughter Millie May Harrop. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Family memorial services will take place at a later date in Nebraska.
