Amy Mavadell Hainworth Rock Springs - Amy Mavadell Hainworth, 78, of Rock Springs, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Sage View Care Center in Rock Springs. She was born January 21, 1931 in Alliance, Nebraska, the daughter of Guy and Vivian Westlake Whitlock. She was a lifelong resident of Lander. She attended schools in Lander and graduated from Fremont Co. Vacational High School with the class of 1948. She married Thomas Hainworth April 17, 1951 in Billings, Montana. They were later divorced. He preceded her in death 1987. Mavadell was employed at the Wyoming State Training School in Lander for 15 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild, and Daughters of the King. Her interests included quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, knitting, painting, baseball & photography. Survivors include three daughters; Liz Ledger and husband Ted of Kent, England, Lynne Gardner and husband Charlie of Rock Springs, Jean Hainworth of Scenic, Arizona; one son, Ted Hainworth and wife Donna of Rock Springs; one brother, Lee Whitlock of Lander; two sisters, Margie Collins of Mesa, Arizona, and Mary Nordwick of Brockton, Montana; 7 grandchildren, Viv Regan, Kate Ledger, Amanda & Jennifer Hainworth, Jake Albert, Matt & Pat Gardner; 4 great-grandchildren, Henry, Alex & Ellie Regan, and Chevy Stanton; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Doy, Dick, Toad and Paul Whitlock. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Inurnment will take place at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander, Wyoming at a later date.
