Annie M Wessel

Annie M. Wessel Green River – Annie M. Wessel, 88, of Green River, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Sage View Care Center, Rock Springs after a short illness. Annie was born November 10, 1916 in Cleveland, Idaho the daughter of Levi Joshua and Emma Hansen Meservy. She attended schools in Idaho and graduated from Deitrich High School in Deitrich, Idaho with the class of 1934. On May 5, 1935 she married Wayne B. Wessel in Gooding, Idaho. He preceded her in death. She raised six children that were not her own, and then went back to college at the age of 55 to start her 2nd career. She attended Weber State College and received an Associates degree in jet aircraft instrumentation. She was employed by the U.S. Post Office and then worked for Hill AFB as a Jet Aircraft Instrumentation Specialist for twelve years until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her interest included sewing, reading, gardening, horses, designing and building of homes, family gatherings, politics. Survivors include her son, W. Leighton Wessel and wife Sarah of Rock Springs; two daughters, Sharon Etxaniz and husband Luis of Green River, and Lori Wessel of Green River; two sisters, Alta Wittmayer of Lodi, California, and Verda Collinsworth of Riverside, California; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne B. Wessel; parents, Levi and Emma Meservy; daughter, Anita Wessel; and three brothers, Horace Christian, Levi James, and Hyrum LaVon Meservy. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005 at the Green River 7th Ward Chapel, 1250 W. Teton, Green River. Bishop Bill Lewis officiating. Inurnment will take place in Victor, Montana. Fox Funeral Home, Rock Springs, funeral directors.
