Arlene Price Porter Green River- Arlene Price Porter, 85, of Green River died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. She was born on October 5, 1923 in Evanston, Wyoming, the daughter of Wilford M. and Francis M. Shirley Price. She attended schools in Evanston and graduated from Evanston High School with the class of 1942. She married Gilbert C. Porter on December 12, 1942 in Evanston. There marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He later preceded her in death on July 24, 1997. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. Her interests included camping, spending time with her family, keeping a journal, and genealogy work, dancing, oldies music, family reunions at bear lake, teaching Sunday school, visiting teaching, and Flaming Gorge Days original cancan Girls. Survivors include her son Craig G. Porter and wife Susan of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughter Karen A. Blasi and husband Paul of Green River; sister Shirley Zwang of St. George, Utah; grandchildren Tana Lundgren, Toni Wakeley, Cara Erickson, Rick and Brad Porter; nine great-grandchildren; several cousins nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday October 5, 2009 at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone Ave. where friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 and on Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
