Barbara Beth Barker
Green River - Barbara Beth Stoll Barker, 65, of Green River, died Sunday July 4, 2009 at the St. John’s Living Center in Jackson, Wyoming.
She was born February 20, 1944 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Kenneth and Grace Switzer Stoll. After her father's death, her mother Grace and Willard Youtz blended their families.
She attended schools in Riverton and Green River, graduating from Green River High School with the Class of 1962.
She married John F. Barker in Green River in September of 1962 and they had three children.
She was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Green River.
She was employed as a cashier for Safeway and Farmer Jacks in Green River for several years. After her retirement, she devoted her time to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her other interests were hunting and fishing.
Survivors include her husband, John Barker of Green River; children, Jim Barker and wife Cori Griffiths of Eden, Wendy Blaisdell and husband Bill of Rock Springs, Jennifer Barker and husband Burt Beamer of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers and sisters, John and Kam Stoll, Joe and Mary Ann Stoll, Carol “Neenie” and Curt Cornelisen, Gayle and Sheryl Lain, Phala Stoll, Connie and Susan Lain, Zoe Lain, Gaylynne Winckler, Sonja and Stan Geyer, Bethann and Peter Matousek, David and Wilma Youtz; grandchildren, Samantha “Barker” Heward, Steven Heward, Tabatha Blaisdell, Aldo Valdez, Courtney Barker, Nick Strampe, Patrick Blaisdell, Robert Allen, Daniel Blaisdell, Shawn Allen and Cortland Barker; great-grandchildren, Maddix Javier Valdez, and Robert Dwayne Heward, and one great-granddaughter on the way; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Douglas Stoll and two grandchildren, Amanda Barker and John Terry “J.T.” Blaisdell.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday July 9, 2009 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Friends and family may call from 6-8 pm Wednesday and Thursday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
