Barbara Staley Star Valley Ranch, WY - Barbara Staley, 81, died Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho after a sudden illness. She was born October 31, 1932 in Hoytsville, Utah, the daughter of Richard Lynn Vernon and Anna Bell Mills Vernon. She attended schools in Rockport and Coalville, Utah, graduating from North Summit High School with the class of 1950. She married Elden Jay Staley September 12, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a homemaker and business owner, running the Taco Times until her retirement in 2003. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her interests were visiting the temples and doing temple work with her sisters. Her other interests were sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and friends (a.k.a. - the lunch bunch). Survivors include her husband Elden Staley of Star Valley Ranch; sons Leland V. Staley and wife Denise and Richard Staley and wife Kathy all of Rock Springs; daughters Jeanene Pickett and husband Mark of Citrus Heights, California; brothers Faye Vernon and wife Annette and Cliff Vernon and wife Lorraine all of Hoytsville; grandchildren Cara Erickson and husband Chris of Green River, Brad Porter and wife Amber of Grand Junction, Colorado, Richard Porter and wife Maurgan of Green River, Adam Pickett and wife Michele of Bethesda, Maryland, Jonathan Pickett of Los Angeles, Michael Pickett and wife Kelly of Austin, Texas, Jordan Pickett of Citrus Heights, Ryan Staley and wife Allison of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sheri Staley and partner Dave of McCall, Idaho, David Petrie and wife Nichole and Derek Petrie and fiancé Kaitlin all of Lakewood, Colorado; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Noreen, and daughter Claudia. A viewing will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Thayne LDS Chapel, Thayne, Wyoming where friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place in the Hoytsville Cemetery, Hoytsville, Utah.
