Barney Ray Gaddo
Rock Springs - Barney Ray Gaddo, 79, of Rock Springs died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born June 29, 1933 in Jackson, Wyoming, the son of Ray Barney Goodrick and Jesse Bird Goodrick. He was later adopted by Andrew Gaddo.
He attended schools in La Barge and Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1953.
He married Glyda Laughter on February 18, 1956 in Green River. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 29, 2010. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2009.
He had worked for OCI for 35 years, retiring in March of 1999 as a supervisor in the mine. He also drove for Le Bus for many years.
He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean war and was stationed in California.
Mr. Gaddo was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a pilot for the Sweetwater County Search and Rescue, and a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. He served as president for many years of the American Institute of Mining Metallurgical Petroleum Engineers.
His interests were spending time with his family, gun collecting, bear collecting, hunting, flying, 4 wheeling, snow mobiling to Granite and Yellowstone, and attending the LDS Temple,.
Survivors include his daughters Terri Lynn Daniel of Green River, and Bonnie Jean Gaddo of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren Tia Kay Desirena and husband Victor of West Valley City, Utah, Vendy Mae Borzea and husband Sean of Boise, Idaho, Jenny Rae Lowell and husband Lourin of Green River, and Zach Gaddo of Rock Springs; great-grandchildren Ariana Lynn, Greta Anne, Aden Michael, and John Clate Borzea all of Boise, Idaho; brother-in-law Harold Laughter and wife Mary Ellen of Morgan, Utah; sister-in-law Sherie Anderson and husband David of Green River; numerous cousins; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Ray Barney Goodrick, mother Jesse
Gaddo, adopted father Andrew Gaddo, wife Glyda Gaddo, brothers Dominic and Pete Gaddo.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Rock Springs LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar, Rock Springs. Bishop Michael Sutphin will officiate.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
