Belva Lowell

Green River – Belva Lowell, 85, of Green River, died Friday, April 29, 2005 at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River after a short illness. Belva was born May 28, 1919 in Carter, Wyoming the daughter of Charles Henry and Carrie Kemsley Walker. She attended schools in Lyman, Wyoming and graduated from Lyman High School with the class of 1936. On May 18, 1939 she married Lourin Lawrence Lowell in Manila, Utah, he preceded her in death on April 16, 2002. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was also member of the Eagles and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Her interests included reading, gardening, camping, traveling, sewing, scrapbooking, games with family, attending Ft. Bridger Rendezvous, and teaching primary. Survivors include three sons, Lawrance Lowell and wife Carol, Ralph Lowell and wife Belle, and Rex Lowell and wife Lois all of Green River; three daughters, Ruth McFarland, Alice Capehart, Virginia Price and husband John all of Green River; one brother, Alfred Walker and wife Donna of Ogden, Utah; one sister, Fay Wadsworth and husband Glen of Lone Tree, Wyoming; eighteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Carrie Walker, her husband Lourin Lowell, one son, Vern Lowell, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone Avenue, Green River where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 and Thursday one hour prior to services. Bishop Wayde Mecham Officiating. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Covington, Jared Lowell, Lourin Lowell, Javen Lowell, David Capehart, and Robin LaCore. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eldon Price, Wesley Price, Lamar Lowell, Kevin Lowell, Craig Lowell, Von Lowell, and Jeffrey Capehart. Fox Funeral Home funeral directors, Rock Springs.
