Bernard E. Marlin Bernard (Bernie) Edward Marlin, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 78, of Green River, Wyoming passed away at 5:05 a.m. on Sunday March 20, 2005 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Rock Springs due to complications from a recently diagnosed illness. Bernard was born May 20, 1926 in Farnam, Nebraska the son of Julius Edward and Eunice Ellen Castor Marlin. He married Ila Frances Cover on April 5, 1944 in Montrose, Colorado. He attended school in Brady, Maxwell, and North Platte, Nebraska. He served in the Navy as a 1st class seaman during World War II. He was employed as a machinist apprentice and later as a pipefitter. Bernard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0028, and the Plumbers and Pipefitters National UA Local 192. His interest included cars, yard work, country music, watching game shows, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Ila Marlin of Green River, Wyoming; four daughters, Kay Barrett and Husband Terry of Oakdale, California, Judy Cotton and husband Jerry of North Platte, Nebraska, Donna Giles and husband Craig of West Valley City, Utah, and Barbara Kearl and husband Doug of Tremonton, Utah; two sons, Gary Marlin and wife Terri, and Jerry Marlin and wife Linda all of Green River, Wyoming; 23 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 daughter, 1 grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23 at the Green River LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 1000 W. 4th N., Green River, Wyoming where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services. Bishop Wade Mecham officiating. Fox Funeral Home funeral directors. An additional service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the North Platte LDS Chapel, 4100 West A & Lakeview Blvd, North Platte, Nebraska. Interment and military honors will be at 11:30 a.m Friday, March 25, 2005 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.
