Rock Springs - Billy Swen Phillips, 76, of Rock Springs, died Friday, August 31, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was born January 9, 1931 in Kemmerer, Wyoming, the son of Delmar and Verna Swenson Phillips. He attended schools in Superior and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1949. He served in the US Navy with the Pacific Fleet. On June 26, 1953 he married Annie E. Pritchard in Rock Springs. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 9, 1966. Billy had been employed in the coal mines in Superior prior to serving in the military. He was employed by Haliburton for 20 years, Bridger Coal for 20 years, and then was a driver for Whisler Motors and other dealerships in the area until the last three years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests were fishing, working on cars, hunting, camping, woodworking, driving, his animals, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Annie Phillips of Rock Springs; three daughters, Beverly Timlin and husband Mark, Becky Yerkovich and husband John, and Billie Condie and husband Ross, all of Rock Springs; two sisters, Gertrude Albertini and husband Herman of Rock Springs, and Dorothy Overy of Superior; six grandchildren, Jan, Kevin, Jeannie, and Jessica Yerkovich, Elise Timlin, and Cammie Olah; one great-granddaughter, Alyson Hunter; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Clifford Overy, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar, Rock Springs. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2007 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
