Bruce James
Rock Springs - Bruce James, 59, of Rock Springs, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born September 27, 1956 in Kalispell, Montana, the son of LeMoyne James and Eunice Mattfield James. He attended schools in Columbia Falls, and Kalispell, Montana.
He married René Mattfield on May 17, 1979 in Rock Springs.
He had worked in the oilfield as a driller for 23 years.
He was an avid outdoors man. His other interests were riding his Harley, camping, cutting wood, fishing, and most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren and the rest of his family.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years René James of Rock Springs; son Justin James of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Melissa Strock of Kinnear, Wyoming; parents Bud and Eunice James of Kila, Montana; sisters Pam and husband Keith Longtin of Kila, Deb and husband Steve Holten of Columbia Falls; grandchildren Lindy and Justin Strock of Kinnear; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, brother Rodney James, granddaughter Summer Rene Strock, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
