Bulah "Boots" Mudd

February 13, 1926 — December 19, 2008

BULAH BELL NEBEKER MUDD ‘BOOTS’ 1926-2008 On December 14, 2008 Bulah Bell Nebeker Mudd, age 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She will be sorely missed by her husband, Dwayne, and their "baby" Meggan puppy. Bulah was born February 13, 1926 in Tridell, Utah to Raymond and Lucy Nebeker. As a teenager she moved with her family to Rock Springs, Wyoming where she attended high school and met her first husband, Robert Beveridge. They raised two daughters, Sheron Beveridge Medill, and Sandy Beveridge. They later divorced She found her eternal mate, Dwayne Mudd in 1981 and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1982. Dwayne and Bulah raised her second family of four sons and a daughter. She and Dwayne eventually moved to Salt Lake City in 1992, where she and her husband currently lived. Bulah is survived by her husband, Dwayne Mudd, daughters Sheron Medill and Sandy Beveridge, sons Rulon (Kathy) Mudd, Christopher (Tawny) Mudd, Raymond (Monica) Mudd, Dwayne Jr. (Tammy) Mudd, and daughter Jeannette; sisters Ona Nebeker Willett and Verna Nebeker West; 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lora Nebeker McConkie and son Jonathan Mudd. Boots had a wonderful love and connection with her pets, whether dogs, cats, or birds, training them to do the most amazing tricks. She was a first-rate cook and excelled at making candy. Her divinity was known far and wide as the best. Without formal training, but with a great ‘ear’ for music Boots taught herself to play the guitar, piano, and organ and served as her ward’s organist for several years. With her sister, Verna, the “Nebeker Sisters’ held a weekly radio show in Rock Springs during the 1950’s, where they would sing songs that the radio audience requested. Their local familiarity even landed them a trip to Denver to sing on the then famous Horace Heidt Talent Show. This duo, with their melodic renditions and yodeling, could quickly get their audiences’ toes tapping. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Rock Springs Foothill Ward Chapel, 3315 White Mountain Boulevard, Rock Springs, Wyoming. The family will receive friends at a viewing Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fox Mortuary, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and Friday from 11:00-11:45 at the chapel prior to services. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
