Cavell Swartz

Edith Cavell Swartz Ranger, TX - Edith Cavell Swartz, 96, of Ranger Texas passed away March 4, 2016 at the Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. She was born December 13, 1919 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Frank Russell and Elsie Mae “Dolly” Shales Russell. She married Virgil Kenneth Swartz in 1939 in Savannah, Missouri. They moved to Rock Springs in 1941. Virgil was employed by Union Pacific Coal Company and FMC. Cavell was a long time employee of JC Penny Co. in Rock Springs. She enjoyed spending time with her family, participating in various activities such as camping, fishing and spending time at their cabin in the South Pass area. Later on in life she became an avid Duke Blue Devil fan, never missing a televised game. Survivors include her daughter Beverly from Ranger, Texas; son Ken and wife Diana of Casper, Wyoming; granddaughters Michelle Winter and husband Daryl of Ammond, Idaho, Kendy Madding and husband Robert of Casper; great-grandchildren Natasha Dragoman and husband Kegan of Ammon, Idaho, Mercedes Madding of South Padre Island, Texas, Chase Mackearney of Ammon; great-great-grandson Kyler Dragoman of Ammon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Dr. Grant Christensen will officiate. A viewing will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs.
