Christena I. Behunin
McKinnon, WY - Christena I. Behunin, 98, of Burnt Fork, Wyoming died Friday December 9, 2011 at her granddaughters home in McKinnon.
She was born April 18, 1913 in McKinnon, the daughter of Eli Ephraim Slagowski and Susie May Merchant Slagowski. She attended schools in McKinnon and Cheyenne.
She married Orson Nathan Behunin December 23, 1930 in Evanston, Wyoming. He preceded her in death March 17, 1975.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of the McKinnon Homemaker's Club.
Her interests included her family, ranching and horses.
Survivors include her son Karl E. Behunin of Fort Bridger; daughters Myrna C. Behunin Lupher of Mountain View, and Geraldine Behunin Lofton of Green River; brothers Floyd Slagowski of Pine Valley, Nevada, and Leo Slagowski of Vernal, Utah; 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orson Behunin, son Donald Behunin, daughters Bonney Jorgensen, Shirley A. McCallister, 4 brothers 2 sisters, and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the McKinnon LDS Chapel where a viewing for friends and family will be held one hour prior to the services. Bishop Rowdy Muir will officiate.
Interment will take place in the McKinnon Cemetery, McKinnon.
Pallbearers will be Jay Lofton, Lance Lofton, Kevin Behunin, Wade Lupher, Wes Lupher, John Lupher and Hubert McAllister.
