Christy Jacobs

Rock Springs - Christy Lynn Jacobs, 43, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the University of Utah Medical Center after a lengthy battle with leukemia. A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, she was born on Feb. 12, 1963, the daughter of Tom and Judy Harper. She attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Spring High School with the class of 1981. She married Randy Jacobs on January 22, 1983 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They had been married for 23 years. Christy had been employed at the Rock Springs National Bank. Her interest included fishing, camping, snowmobiling, golfing, and spending time with her family. She was an avid gymnast and was instrumental in establishing the Rock Springs Gymnastic programs. She also coached choreographed, and was a Level 9 USAG judge. Survivors include her husband Randy of Rock Springs; daughter Leslie Jacobs of Rock Springs and son Shawn Jacobs and fiancé Kristina Chick of Grand Junction, Colorado; parents, Tom & Judy Harper of Pinedale; sister Debbie Hensley of Laramie and brother Mike Harper and wife Corey of Pinedale; grandmother, Bertha Peters of Rock Springs; mother-in-law, Ruth Jacobs of Middlebury, Vermont; several aunts, uncles and cousins; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Thomas Harper, maternal grandparents, Gordon & Marie Edwards, sister, Sherrie Porter, father-in-law Abraham Jacobs and paternal step grandfather William “Pete” Peters. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion, 2nd & B Street, Rock Springs. Rev. Ann Fontaine and Bernadine Craft will officiate. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Interment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
