Clair B. Pechacek “Side Stepper” Rock Springs– Clair B. Pechacek “Side Stepper”, 67 of Rock Springs, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at his home after a lengthy illness. Clair was born May 15, 1937 in Riverfalls, Wisconsin the son of Ben and Hellen Johnson Pechacek. He attended schools in Riverfalls, Wisconsin and graduated from Riverfalls High School. He married Wanda F. Estep on February 14, 1998 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He served in the Army Reserve for eight years. He was employed at 3M for 13 years. He opened Clair’s Corral Bar for a few years and then the Westwind in Riverfalls, Wisconsin. Later he became an owner operator truck driver for thirty years until his retirement in 2002. He then was employed at Pacific Steel until his illness. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Wanda Pechacek of Rock Springs; two sons, Kevin Pechacek and wife Amy, and Craig Pechacek all of Riverfalls Wisconsin; two step-sons, Matt Rogina and wife Marissa of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Sean Davis and wife Mandi of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three daughters, Pam Chinander of Roberts, Wisconsin, Shelly Newell and husband Clive of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kelly Mitsakos and husband James of Las Vegas, Nevada; three step-daughters, Nona and husband Joseph, Brandie Reynolds and husband Bryan, and Rusti Estep all of Vernal, Utah; one brother, Gordon Pechacek and wife Peg of Amery, Wisconsin; one sister, Jeanette Cobian of Prescott, Wisconsin; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Hellen Pechacek, and one brother, Jimmy Pechacek. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2005 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Rev. Killian Muli officiating. Military honors and inurnment will be at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. An additional memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2005 at St. Bridges Catholic Church, Riverfalls, Wisconsin, with visitation one hour prior to the services. A wake will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Cashman Mortuary, Riverfalls, Wisconsin.
