Clarence Foster Burdg Rock Springs - Clarence Foster Burdg, 102, of Rock Springs died Friday, September 28, 2007 at his home. He was born October 4, 1904 in Denison, Texas, the son of Emerson C. and Inez Francis Higginbotham Burdg. He graduated from Springfield High School in Missouri with the class of 1921. He attended University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he received his degree. Clarence married Mildred Edna Neff on July 18, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on December 2, 1946. He then married Marjorie June Bartlett on January 19, 1948. She also preceded him in death on January 2, 1998. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was stationed with the Construction Battalions (US Navy Sea Bees) in Washington, D.C., Davisville, RI and San Diego, CA. He had been employed with the US Bureau of Reclamation as a civil engineer and retired after almost 42 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Ft. Collins, CO. His interests were photography, home construction, camping, his grandchildren and square dancing. Survivors include his son Donald E. Burdg and wife Margaret of Coos Bay, Oregon; daughter Margaret A. Clerkin of Rock Springs; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Terence James Clerkin, and sister Thelma Burdg. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Graveside services and inurnment took place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2007 at the Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford, Nebraska
