Claude “ Bud” Alwin Smith Jr.
Rock Springs- Claude “ Bud” Alwin Smith, 62, of Rock Springs, died Friday, September 5,2014 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 14, 1952 in Newcastle, Wyoming, the son of Claude Alvin Smith Sr. and Darlene Rosetta McNew Smith Colpitts. He attended schools in Washington and graduated from Kent-Meridian High School with the class of 1970.
He married Sheila Marie Brown on June 14, 1980 in Rock Springs. They were later divorced.
He worked as a finishing carpenter for many years.
His interests were woodworking, stone carving, fishing, sculpting, carpentry, art work, and spending time with his granddaughter.
Survivors include his former wife Sheila Smith of Rock Springs; mother Darlene Colpitts of Rock Springs; sons Bud Smith, Paul Smith, and Shawn Smith all of Rock Springs; brothers Philip Craig Smith and wife Renee, Steven Burke Smith and wife Terri all of Rock Springs; sister Lorry Redding and husband Richard of Wheatland, WY; granddaughter Alice Marie Smith of Rock Springs; aunt Lois Frisbee of Rock Springs; uncles Keith R. Arcoren of Rock Springs and Ricky Loftice of Livingston Montana; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Claude Smith Sr; grandmother Gladys Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the American Legion (old building) 551 Broadway St., Rock Springs.
