Dale Neumann

Dale Neumann Green River - Dale Neumann, 76, of Green River, formerly of Fairview Heights and Lebanon, IL, died peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at his home. He was born on November 2, 1932 near Highland, IL, the son of Reuben Walter and Violet Monken Neumann. He married Janet Catherine Klohr on December 26, 1953 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairview, IL. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After his service in the Navy, he was employed as a welder and then draftsman for Independent Engineering in O’Fallon IL. Mr. Neumann later worked in the home remodeling business and eventually started his own business called Royal Oaks Builders, for the next 20 years. Dale & Janet then moved to Lebanon, IL where they owned and operated Wee Whittle Works. He then retired and moved with his wife to Green River. Survivors include his wife Janet of Green River; two sons, Kurt Neumann and wife Kristy of Fairview Heights, IL, and Scott Neumann of Green River; two daughters, Lynn Neumann of Maryville, IL and Fay Frye and husband Gayland of Green River; three sisters, Betty Wuller of Belleville, IL, Bonnie Gain and husband Louis of Jacksonville, IL, and Suzanne Victoria and husband Richie of Freeburg, IL; one brother, Terry Neumann of Belleville, IL; one brother-in-law, Leo Klohr and wife Judy of Raleigh, NC; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Violet Neuman and brother-in-law Jack Wuller. Friends and family may call 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Graveside services with military honors and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
