Daniel Gosar

Daniel McKay Gosar, 16, a resident of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Bloomfield. Daniel was born Nov. 3, 1995, in Casper, Wyo., the son of Wayne M. Gosar and AnnaLee (Harmon) Gosar. Daniel was born with a song in his heart. When he was small he had a difficult time standing still and loved to dance and or tap rhythms. As a toddler, when asked "why can't you stand still?" his reply was, "I can feel music inside and I just have to get it out." As a small child his favorite actor was Gene Kelly and before he was old enough to go to school he had worn out two sets of furniture dancing with his Gene Kelly shows. School was a challenge for Dan, but through a lot of perseverance and hard work he was able to work through his academic challenges and was listed in the top eight of his freshman year class. He earned his first 4.0 this past quarter. Daniel was always a very affectionate child, and his greatest happiness came from treating you with open arms and a smile. Throughout his life, music was his passion. He had a very smooth baritone voice and was singing or humming most of the time. In band he played the alto and baritone sax. Daniel also loved to play the piano and played beautiful impromptu music, and enjoyed making up his own songs. Over the past four years Daniel had opportunities to compete in many musical events and won top placements. In musical theater he had the lead in Charley Brown (Fall 2011), the Prince in "Once upon a Mattress," and was currently practicing as Horton the elephant in "Seussical the Musical." Daniel leaves behind his parents, Wayne and AnnaLee Gosar; brothers, Joseph (AnnaLisa) Gosar and Elder Alex Gosar; sister, ShaLeesa Gosar; niece and nephew, Shirley and Walter Gosar; grandparents, Alan and Sylvia Harmon and John and Maxine Gosar; and many dear friends. Visitation for Daniel will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bloomfield Stake Center, 804 Blanco Blvd. in Bloomfield. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m., also at the church, with Mark Arumbula of the Bloomfield 1st Ward officiating. Interment will take place on Wednesday, April 4, in Green River, Wyo. Pallbearers are Shawn Kidd, Greg Gosar, Lance Harmon, Gary Ecton, Mike Gosar, and Joseph Gosar. Honorary pallbearers are Elder Alex Gosar and Elder Kyle Brown. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Daniel's memory to the Bloomfield High School Theater, Bloomfield High School, Theater Department, Attn: Shawn Kidd, 520 N. 1st St., Bloomfield, NM 87413.
