Dennis Murray Case
Rock Springs - Dennis Murray Case, 66, of Rock Springs died November 17, 2015 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born March 8, 1949 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Arlo Case and Rosemary M. Porter Case. He attended schools in Fort Dodge, Sioux City, and high School in Storm Lake, Iowa.
He was a veteran having served in the US Marines during the Vietnam War.
He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with 3 stars, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and the Rifle Marksmanship Medal.
He married Lucy Urrutia Unger January 20, 1999 in Miami, Oklahoma. He had worked as a construction superintendent for 30 years at High Desert Construction, Pleasant Construction, and Birch Construction retiring in March of 2015.
His interests included the outdoors, riding his Harley, 4-wheeling, camping, going to motor cross, working and keeping busy, and doing things with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife Lucy Unger Case of Rock Springs; daughter Chauntel Lister of St. George, Utah; step-daughters Christina Unger-Penoff of Rock Springs, and Shavonne Harris of Cedar City, Utah; brother Richard Case and wife Julie of Cherokee, Iowa, and sister Susan Foster and husband Ron of Schaller, Iowa; grandchildren Dylan Larson, Knox Case, Charlie Lister, Andie Lister, Aaron Penoff, Ravae Harris, Sayzhia Harris, Dauvenay Harris and Zyas Harris; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rosemary Marksbury, step-daughter Allyenne Urrutia, step-son Jack Unger, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Pastor Larry Johnson will officiate.
Family request everyone to wear casual dress.
Interment with military honors will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, Rock Springs.
