Dennis Kay Rollins
Dennis Kay Rollins, age 61, died March 11, 2016. He was born to Sheldon Levoid Rollins and Duella Irene Twitchell in Evanston, Wyoming.
He married Roberta Richins February 14, 1976 in the LDS Provo Temple. Dennis graduated from Green River High School where he was active in music, football, basketball, and track and field. He attended Brigham Young University and Western Wyoming College, worked at General Chemical, Questar and QEP. While employed with General Chemical he accepted educational opportunities to advance his career in maintenance, welding, and instrumentation.
Dennis served a two year mission to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked to keep his fluent Portuguese speaking abilities to the end of his life. He was active in the LDS church and served in many callings.
He enjoyed coaching baseball and teaching Tae Kwon Do, having earned his 2nd degree black belt. He was an honest and honorable man, a man of his word. He was very trustworthy and anyone that knew him knew that his word was his bond.
Dennis was a great husband and father. Everything he did revolved around his family. He always found time to attend his children’s school and sport activities.
He is survived by sons Justin Rollins (Rachelle), Michael Rollins, Paul Rollins (Kyla), by daughters Kara Huff (Todd), Aimee Holt (David), sisters Linda Knight (Allen), Janice Knight (Ken), Maureen Vehar (Bob), Barbara Killpack (Gary), Kayleen Leonard (Gary), brother Linne Rollins (Betty), adopted brother Jim Gazdik (Naoma), and 15 grandchildren.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone, Green River. A viewing will be 6-8 pm Friday, March 18, 2016 and 9:30 - 10:30 am on Saturday also at the church.
Interment will take place in the Lyman Cemetery, Lyman, Wyoming.
