Donald Merlin Schofield
McKinnon- Donald Merlin Schofield, 81, of McKinnon, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born May 23, 2010 in Bountiful, Utah, the son of Merlin and Lena Searle Schofield.
He married Annette Brady on May 13, 1954 in McKinnon, Wyoming. He had worked for many years as a rancher and also owned and operated Schofield Construction.
He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska.
He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His interests included horses, his family and friends.
Survivors include wife Annette Schofield; children, Fayette Wilde and husband Kelly, Deborah Bergmeier and husband Charlie, Dawn Marie Slagowski and husband Bob, Charlotte Maxim, Brad Schofield and wife Carol, Clint Schofield, Marie Ann Saldana and husband Hector, Amy Kitchel and husband Troy, and Spencer Schofield; two brothers, Wendell Schofield and wife Agnes, and Les Schofield and wife Cindy; three sisters, Joyce Mienela, Florence Christensen and husband Dick, and Dixie Moser; 29 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Cody E. Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the McKinnon LDS Chapel. Bishop Mike Potter will officiate.
Friends may call 5:30-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, and 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the services at the church.
Interment will take place at the McKinnon Cemetery, McKinnon, Wyoming.
