Donna Laing

Donna Jean Laing Rock Springs - Donna Jean Laing, 62, of Rock Springs died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. She had been battling cancer for 6 months. She was born September 30, 1945 in Derby, Connecticut, the daughter of Bernard and June Hadley Batchelder. She attended South Burlington High School in Vermont and graduated with the class of 1963. While raising her children, Donna attended the University of Nebraska and graduated Cum Laude in 1973. She then enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse. She married John Laing on December 30, 1988 in South Burlington, Vermont. Her interests were spending time with her family, traveling, her pets, reading, camping and the outdoors. Donna spent most of her time helping others no matter the cost or effort. Survivors include her husband John Laing of Rock Springs; son, Robert Cole and wife Angela of Kansas City, Kansas; two daughters, Kimberly Brown and husband Jimmy of Burleson, Texas, and Christina Swedlund and husband Mitch of Rock Springs; two stepchildren, Heather Pomeroy and Eric Laing, both of Vermont; grandchildren, Hayden and Gannon of Kansas City, Kansas, Shelby and Parker of Burleson, Texas, and Casey, Ethan and Hadley of Rock Springs. At her request, no services will be held. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
