GREEN RIVER - Funeral services for Dorothy Irene McCaslin, 65, were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 18, 2006 at Monroe Avenue Baptist Church of Green River, with her grandson, the Rev. Matthew Maestas, officiating.
Additional funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Calvary Funeral Home in Eunice, N.M. Interment took place at the Bronson Memorial Cemetery in Eunice.
She died Jan. 14, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs after a short illness.
She was born prematurely Aug. 27, 1940, in Eunice, the daughter of Oliver Rogers and Azalea Barryman Eubanks. Her mother died shortly after and she was raised by Ana Mae Eubanks. She attended schools in Eunice, graduating from Eunice High School with the class of 1957.
On Aug. 30, 1958, she married John A. McCaslin in Eunice.
Most recently she was employed at the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner newspaper and previously had been employed at Allied Chemical, Winston Brothers, Bearing and Supply Headquarters, School District No. 2, PCC Exxon, Waddell & Reed, Trans Equipment, and Renzenberger. She also had been a notary public for many years.
She was a member of the Monroe Avenue Baptist Church in Green River. She was also a member of the Eagles, WMU in Green River and Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
Her interests included caretaking, always helping other people, hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include her husband of Green River; a son, Andy McCaslin and his wife of Casper; a daughter, Beverli McCaslin of Green River; four stepsisters, Vera Betties and her husband and Betty McCallib, all of Eunice, and Madelle Welsch of Midland, Texas, and Dorothy Pope of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; three grandchildren; several cousins and lifelong friends; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Eubanks, Azalea Eubanks and Ana Mae Eubanks; one brother, Roger Eubanks; four uncles; and granddaughter RaLee Ann McCaslin.
