Eden - Douglas E. Long, 60, of Eden, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a lengthy illness.
He was born February 28, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Earl Richard and DeLores Margret Pauli Long.
He attended schools in Salt Lake City, Utah and Bellflower, California and graduated from Bellflower High School with the class of 1965. He then attended Cerritos Community College and received an Associates Degree in Drafting.
He served in the US Marine Corp during the Viet Nam War.
Douglas married Candice Ann Lingle on July 13, 1968 in Bellflower, California.
He had been employed with Pacific Power and Light for 17 years.
His interests were fishing, camping, hunting, snowmobiling, and was an active outdoors man.
Survivors include his wife Candice of Eden; one daughter Denice Long of Eden; mother-in-law, Mary Lou Lingle of Upton, Wyoming; brother Michael Long and wife Christi of Olympia, Washington; brother-in-law Rick Lingle and wife Linda of Mt. View, Wyoming; sister-in-law Winnie Goldsberry of Osage, Wyoming; two grandchildren, Michael Douglas Long and Jessica Long both of Eden; nieces and nephews, Karl, Christina and Kelly Long, Julie, Darrell, Dean, Richard, Wyatt, Ashley, Jeremiah, Clay, April, Jodi and Phillip; several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Ellsworth Lingle Sr.
Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
