Rock Springs - Douglas Gilles Shoemaker, 63, of Rock Springs, died July 7, 2004 at his home of a sudden illness. He was born February 11, 1941 in Casper, Wyoming, the son of Judson Samuel and Marianne Katherine Flowers Shoemaker. He attended schools in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School with the class of 1959. On July 24, 1964, he married Sandra Lee Matzke in Casper. He had been self employed as a janitorial service for the last few years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Rock Springs. His interests were restoring old cars and wood working. Survivors include his wife Sandy of Rock Springs; one son, Arron Shoemaker of Midvale, Utah; two daughters, Gina Jensen and husband Alvin of Rock Springs, and Cristina Bailey and husband Shane of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina; one brother, Steven Shoemaker and wife Donna of Casper; one sister, Kathy Goedicke and husband Paul of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Akonya and Shania Bailey of Ft. Bragg, NC and Michael Douglas Shoemaker of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Steven Allen and Richard Douglas Shoemaker. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
