Elsie Bernice Menapace

Rock Springs - Elsie Bernice Menapace, 90, of Rock Springs, died Friday, November 12, 2004 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River after a lengthy illness. She was born December 3, 1913 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of Tony and Mary Potochnik Zaversnik. She married John Herman Menapace on October 16, 1937 in Rock Springs. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1975. Elsie attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1932. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. Her interests included church activities, cooking, housekeeping, and gardening. Survivors include three sons; John P. Menapace and wife Jean of Rock Springs, Robert C. Menapace and wife Roena of Kenai, Alaska, and Richard W. Menapace and wife Marilyn of Denver, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 6 nieces and 8 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John H. Menapace, one daughter, Shirley Ruess, 7 brothers, 1 sister, 4 brother-in-laws, 4 sister-in-laws, one niece and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Friends may call 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Van Hee officiating. Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
