Elsie Loucile Forslin Green River - Elsie Loucile Forslin, 90, of Green River died October 25, 2011 at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River after a lengthy illness. She was born on September 11, 1921 in Overton, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles Bert Monahan and Clara Louisa May Snook Monahan. She attended schools in Green River and graduated from Green River High School with the class of 1939. She also had attended classes at Western Wyoming Community College. She married Elmer Forslin May 3, 1940 in Manilla, Utah. He preceded her in death. Elsie was a member of the UP Old Timers in Green River. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her interests were cooking, playing games, sewing, crafts, genealogy, reading, hiking, camping, and water skiing. She water skied well into her 70's. Elmer and Elsie taught their children and grandchildren to water ski and to love camping. Her daughters and many granddaughters learned to cook at her side. She served the Lord in every talent He blessed her with. Survivors include her son Allen Forslin of Green River; daughters, Virginia Young and husband Floyd of Powell, Wyoming, and Janet Hepworth and husband Mark of Centerville, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, son Robert, daughter Alice and 9 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Green River LDS 1st & 3rd Ward Chapel, 1000 W 4th North, Green River. Friends may call 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at the church and also one hour Saturday prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
