Erland Smith

Erland A. Smith Rock Springs - Erland Allen Smith Jr., 52, of Rock Springs, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born August 2, 1959 in Wheaton, Minnesota, the son of Erland Allen Smith Sr. and Marjorie Ann Block Smith. He graduated from Valley Union High School, Elfrida, Arizona with the class of 1977. He also received his associates degree from Casper College, Casper, Wyoming. He was employed for Black Butte Coal as an electrician until his retirement after 20 years. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. His interests were fishing and hunting. Survivors include his parents Erland and Marjorie Smith of Spring Creek, Nevada; one brother Eric Smith of Spring Creek. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
