Erwin Becker

Erwin C. Becker Rock Springs - Erwin C. Becker, 83, of Rock Springs died Thursday, October 7, 2008 at Sage View Convalescent Center in Rock Springs after a short illness. He was born July 2, 1925 in Cedar, Nebraska, the son of Frederick and Rose Schmidt Becker. He attended schools in Nebraska and graduated from high school in 1940. He married Francis Lial in Alameda, California. They were later divorced. Erwin served in the US Navy for 20 years. He had been employed as a pipe fitter with Jim Bridger Coal until his retirement. His interests were camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, and his pets. Survivors included his son, Michael Erwin Becker of Green River; daughter, Charlena Becker of California; 5 brothers and 3 sisters; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Rose Becker and daughter Judy Becker. Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Private family services will be held at a later date.
