Rock Springs - Eugene Hodder, 93, of Rock Springs died Monday, March 26, 2007 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City following complications from heart surgery.
He was born September 1, 1913 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of George Hodder and Fanny Fredrickson Hodder. He was raised and attended schools in Salt Lake City.
Eugene married Helen Young on November 8, 1943 in Ely, Nevada. They moved to Farson in 1957 where they raised six children on a ranch.
He served in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in Okinawa.
His interests were hard work, fishing, camping, trapping, hunting, farming and ranching, family gatherings and friends.
Survivors include his wife Helen of Rock Springs; son, Jim Hodder and wife Susan of Farson; daughters, Debra Snyder of Farson, Linda Labbe and husband Stan of Lander, Laura Sloan and husband Kevin of Farson; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Mark and Les Hodder.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Farson Community Center in Farson.
Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
