RELIANCE -- Florence Elaine Retel, 80, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at the Eastern Idaho Falls Regional Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1933 in Winton to Chris and Thelma (Davidson) Delgado. She graduated salutatorian at Reliance High School in 1951.
She had five children with Blaine Potter. She married Joe Retel.
She owned Florence's Beauty Salon in Rock Springs for several decades before moving to Pinedale, where she was owner and operator of Country Lane Gas, Groceries and Liquor, retiring at age 72.
She was a member of the Eagles and American Legion.
Her interests included spending time her husband dancing, traveling, hunting and fishing; outdoor life; being a pool player, seamstress, NFL fan; puzzles; writing poems and caring for people.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Joe Retel of Pinedale; brother, Don Delgado and wife Marge of East Moline, Ill.; children, Tom Potter, Darlene Urrutia and husband Robert, Connie Lucas, and Tanya McGarvey and husband Bill, all of Rock Springs; grandchildren, Fred Urrutia, Amanda Sanders, Jason Marcy, Quinton Lucus, BJ Lucus, Tonya Vondenkamp, Brandy Potter, Crystal Vance and Irish McGarvey; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ken Delgado; and son, Ronnie Potter.
A celebration honoring her life will be announced at a later date.
