Green River – Forest N. Holladay, 96, of Green River died Sunday, January 16, 2005 at home after a short illness.
Forest was born November 13, 1908 in San Angelo, Texas the son of Benjamin F. and Cardelia Griffeth Holladay. He married Leota Walton on March 17, 1932 in Auburn, Wyoming. She preceded him in death on November 21, 1998.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
His interests included rodeos, jeep racing, and ranching. In his younger days he went on cattle drives, won several jeep races in New Mexico and Colorado, and wrangled wild horses and broke them.
Survivors include, three daughters, Lila Seyersdahl and husband Chris of Green River, Carol Johnson of Pinedale, and Shirlene Hager of Green River; three brothers, Benjamin Holladay, Harvey Holladay, and Monroe Holladay; two sisters, Delilia, and May Griffeth; fifteen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren, and twenty-six great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Cardelia Holladay, his wife Leota Holladay, one son Carl Holladay, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Green River 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 1000 W. 400 N., Green River where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Bishop Greg O Neil officiating. Fox Funeral Home funeral directors. Interment will take place at the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
