Frank S. Virden Rock Springs – Frank S. Virden, 53, of Rock Springs died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah after a short illness. Frank was born December 15, 1951 in Denver, Colorado the son of Ira “Slats” and Ruth Arline Adams Virden. He attended schools in McCoy and Oak Creek, Colorado and graduated from Soroco High School with the class of 1969. He married his childhood sweetheart Nancy Lynn Holt on December 19, 1971 in McCoy, Colorado. In 1977, he and his wife moved to Rock Springs and in 1985 they started their own company, Frank’s Construction, and has been active in the oil fields ever since. He was a member of the Masons, and the Elks. His interests included fishing, hunting, boating, flying, trap shooting, the outdoors, and wildlife. Survivors include his wife Nancy Virden of Rock Springs; mother-in-law, Betty Holt of Shattuck, Oklahoma; brother, Jack Virden and wife Phyllis of Craig, Colorado; two sisters, Inez Baldwin and husband Russ of Creighton, Nebraska, and Ruby Forster and husband Frank of McCoy, Colorado; grandmother-in-law, Anna May Matthews of Shattuck, OK; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and close friend, James R. Goddard of Rock Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents “Slats” and Arline Virden; two sisters, Jodine Virden and Dorothy Weldon; father-in-law, Bill Holt; nephew, Clint Forster. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call 12- 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday until time of service. Interment will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs. In Lieu of flowers please make donations
