Frankie Leona Johnson Hawley Valleyford, WA - Frankie Leona Johnson Hawley, 90, died Monday, April 12, 2010 in Valleyford, WA. She was born November 7, 1919 on their homestead at Halfway, Wyoming ( Northwest of Big Piney), the daughter of Frank and Hattie Johnson. Most of her growing up years were spent in Montana near Valier. She graduated from Pinedale High School with the class of 1938. She married Patrick Gregory Hawley on October 23, 1938 in Pinedale. He preceded her in death. They worked on various ranches around the area before starting their own ranch near Boulder, Wyoming. In 1949, they purchased the Fillbrick ranch on the Green River in what is now the Seedskedee National Wildlife Refuge. They later moved to a ranch in Eden and ranched until their retirement in Rock Springs. After her husbands death, she moved to Marbleton and then later to Valleyford, Washington, where she spent the last eight years of her life. Frankie was the first women in her family to work outside of the home. She was employed by Little America for several years until all her children had graduated from high school. During the 20 years living in Rock Springs, she was employed for Drs. Al Morgan Sr., Al Morgan Jr. and Dr. Floyd Huxford. Survivors include her children, Patricia Ryan of Cheyenne, Janet Accardo and husband Tony of Greensboro, Georgia, Thomas Hawley and wife Margy of Big Piney, and John P. Hawley of Valleyford, Washington; one sister, Vivian Shaul of Pinedale; grandchildren, Shannon Ryan, K.C. Jochim, Alicia Accardo, Tony Accardo, Clarice Michel, Chris Hawley, Bobby Hawley, Lori Green, Jon Hawley, Deneise Bucko, and Todd Hawley; 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Patrick, son Patrick Brian Hawley, sister June Johnson Alexander, brother Chester T. Johnson, three grandsons, Timothy P. Ryan, Richard and Thomas Hawley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
