Fred Urutia

Fred Urutia Rock Springs- Fred Urutia, 88, of Rock Springs died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. He was born July 4, 1921 in Rock Springs the son of Fernando and Adela Urutia. He attended schools in Bitter Creek. He married Helen Chericker on January 19, 1950 in Rock Springs. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during World War II. Survivors include wife Helen Urutia of Rock Springs; daughters Lisa Tarufelli and husband Ron of Rock Springs, and Teresa Urutia and husband Mark Keown of Christ Church, New Zealand; grandchildren, Blythe Urutia of Portland, Oklahoma, Chelsea Keown of Forest Grove, Oregon, Laura Keown of Willington, New Zealand, Lauren Tarufelli of Sandy, Utah, and Aedin Tarufelli of Rock Springs; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Robert, and sister Rose Kizzire. Graveside military honors with interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday June 28, 2010 at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
