Geof D. Townsend Rock Springs - Geof D. Townsend, 46, of Rock Springs, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. He was a longtime resident of Rock Springs. He was born August 23, 1969 in Gresham, Oregon, the son of George Charles Townsend and Patricia Pearl Hanley Townsend. He attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1987. He married Regina Eagle May 23, 1998 in Rock Springs. He worked driving trucks for Fed Ex for the last 6 years. He was a member of Restoration Ministries in Rock Springs. His interests were family, friends, cars, camping, fishing, racing, and wood working. It is impossible to specifically list every life he touched, but no life will ever be the same without him. Survivors include his wife Regina Townsend of Las Vegas; sons Nathan Gines and wife Caroline of Rock Springs, Kenyon Gines and wife Bernadette of Denver, Colorado, Ronnie Justus and wife Andrea and Michael Gutierrez and wife Bryanne all of Rock Springs; brother Wayne Townsend of Denver, Colorado; sisters Nedra Runkel and husband Jeff of Green River, Anna Archer of Rock Springs, Rhoda Barnhouse and husband Dave of Reliance, and Barbara Sellers of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Corby, Echo, Elijah, Jennie, Nicole, Destiny, Bree, Christian, Maddie, Kensie, Joseph, Esperanza, Selena, Isabella, Kenyon Jr., Sabrina, Valerie and Faith; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Roger, brother-in-law Gary, sister-in-law, Cassie, and father-in-law Donald. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, October 24,2015 at the Sweetwater Events complex (main hall), 3320 Yellowstone Road, Rock Springs. A viewing will be held 6-8 pm Friday, October 23, 2015 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the events complex. Pallbearers will be Nathan Gines, Kenyon Gines, Ronnie Justus, Michael Gutierrez, Andy Crouch and Kevin Rock. Family request that you bring your favorite photo to add to the mural and wear something to the service that reminds you of Geof. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to: Geof Townsend Memorial Fund@ Bank of the West. All donations will be forwarded to Cowboys Against Cancer and his medical expenses. Cremation will follow at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
