Grant Muir

Grant Allen Muir Rock Springs- Grant Allen Muir, 69, of Rock Springs died Friday June 25, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born December 19, 1940 in Pioche, Nevada, the son of Grant J. and Kathleen English Muir. He attended schools in Pioche and graduated from White Pine County High School in Ely, Nevada with the class of 1960. He also attended Western Wyoming Community College and received his associates degree. He married Harriet Ann Howes on December 31, 1960 in Ruth Nevada. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2004. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests included his grandchildren, hunting, and eating good food. Survivors include his mother Kathleen Foster Muir of Myrtle Creek Oregon; sons, Dean Muir and wife Michelle, and Sande Muir all of Rock Springs; sisters Pat Jones of Oregon, Shirley Spurlin of Florida, and Kathy Humphrey of Nevada; grandchildren Sandra, Aleisha, Dean Jr., Katie, Ken, Nile, and Nathan. He was preceeded in death by wife Harriet Ann Muir, son Kennith Allen Muir, father Grant J. Muir, and brother George Muir. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Rock Springs LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar St., Rock Springs. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday June 28, 2010 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, North Rock Springs.
