Gregory Alton Johnson
Rock Springs - Gregory Alton Johnson, 51, of Rock Springs, died Friday, September 7, 2012 in Sheep Creek Canyon, Manila, Utah from an accident.
He was born June 29, 1961 in Taipei, Taiwan, the son of Roy Johnson and Nancy Denton Johnson. He attended schools in Worland, Wyoming and graduated from Worland High School.
He married Donna Lynn Eckhardt June 7, 1997 in the Grace Lutheran Church in Worland.
He had worked as an ironworker for TIC and CDK. He later worked as a truck driver for BFI, Snow Growers Ice Cream, and most recently John Bunning Transfer in Rock Springs.
His interests were spending time with his wife Donna, children and grandchildren. His other interests were his Harley and music. He learned the piano at age 7 and drums at age 8. He played in a band with his father and brother and many other groups.
Survivors include his wife Donna Johnson of Rock Springs; father Roy Johnson of Worland; daughter Misty Greenfield and husband Eric of Helena, Montana; sons Troy Eckhardt and wife Nikita of Linden, Pennsylvania, Matt Eckhardt of Lyons, Colorado, and Terry James “TJ” Scribner of Salt Lake City; sister Kathy Bella and husband Mike of Casper, Wyoming; brothers Steven and Russell Johnson both of Casper; grandchildren Justin and Kolby Eckhardt, Kalie Scribner, Christopher and Justin Pettet and Dana Greenfield; nephews Scott Segetti, Brandon, Anthony, and Brad Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother Nancy Johnson.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs.
