Harold E. Huesing Rock Springs - Harold E. Huesing, 87, of Rock Springs died December 30, 2008 at Sage View Convalescent Center in Rock Springs after a short illness. He was born July 25, 1921 in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Otto Louis and Charlotte (Lula) Louise Ottenhausen Huesing. Harold grew up and attended schools in the Freeport, Illinois among a large extended family. He graduated from Freeport High School. He also attended Brown’s College in Freeport. At the age of 21, he moved to warmer weather in Dallas, Texas where he began a life-long career with Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Co. He served in the US Navy in the Pacific Arena during WWII. He married Ruby Ruth Martin on April 7, 1946 in Ft. Worth, Texas and they settled in Irving, Texas. He was a member of the Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church. His interests were bowling, gardening, and carpentry. Survivors include his wife Ruby of Rock Springs; sons, Alan Martin Huesing and wife Sheryl of Longview, Texas, and Stanley Hunter Huesing and wife Enya of Kaohsiung, Taiwan ROC; daughters, Gretchen Anita Brasington and husband Kim of Rock Springs, and Tracey Lynn Schurr of Lockport, New York; sister Helen Schleich of Freeport, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Gwen Flake of Tyler, Texas, Merewyn Archer of West Virginia, Nathan, Owen, Ellen and Nolan Brasington of Rock Springs, Andrew, Jenna, and Kyle Huesing of Longview, Texas, Jessica Huesing of Taiwan and Michael Gaught of New York; one great-grandson, Michael Gaught of New York; 4 nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lula Huesing, brother, Karl Huesing, brother-in-law Jerry Schleich, and one nephew also named Jerry Schleich. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Rock Springs Evangelical Free Church, 125 Firestone, Rock Springs where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Pastor Richard Carlson will officiate. Interment with military honors will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
