Helen Anastasia Hafner Rock Springs - Helen Anastasia Hafner, 93, of Rock Springs died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Sage View Convalescent Center in Rock Springs after a lengthy illness. She was born April 15, 1917 in Cumberland, Wyoming, the daughter of Waleryan and Anastasia Wrubleska Wisniewski. She attended Rock Springs High School. She married William "Happy" M. Hafner on March 25, 1944 in Rock Springs. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1995. Helen had been employed for many years by the El Rancho Motel and Alexander's Launderette in Rock Springs. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community, the Council of Catholic Women and the American Fraternal Union. Her interests were camping, fishing, the outdoors, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. Survivors include children William & Ida Franc of Overton, Nevada, Almarie & Neil Bernardy of Libby, Montana, John Hafner and David & Susannah Hafner all of Rock Springs; sister-in-law Albina Wisniewski of Rock Springs; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband Bill Hafner, daughter Laura Fields, brothers Ignac, Matthew, Basil, John, Stanley, Henry and Leon, sisters, Leona and Mary. Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. Rev. Carl Beavers will officiate. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Family suggest donation in Helen's name be made the the St. Joseph's Children Home, 1419 Main St., Torrington, WY 82240, or the Holy Spirit Catholic School,116 Broadway, Rock Springs, WY 82901.
