Helen LaRue Hodder
Green River - Helen LaRue Hodder, 87, of Green River died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River.
She was born January 2, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Parley Q. Young and Fena Mary VanKomen Young. She attended schools in Black Pine, Idaho.
She married Eugene Hodder October 8, 1943 in Ely, Nevada. He preceded her in death March 26, 2007.
They moved to Farson in 1957 and she assisted her husband on their ranch for many years and raised six children.
She was of Christian faith and attended church often at the care center.
Her interests were gardening, animals, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include son James Hodder and wife Susan of Farson; daughters
Debra Snyder of Farson, Linda Labbe and husband Stan of Deer Lodge, Montana, and Laura Sloan and husband Kevin of Farson; daughter-in-law Betty Hodder of Rock Springs; grandchildren Warren, Wendy, Brian, Jim (Jay), Elaine, Alicia, Aaron, Michelle, Krista, Melissa, and Cody; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special friend Marcell Warner of Inkom, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene Hodder, sons Mark and Les Hodder, sister June Lucille Young and son-in-law Dean Snyder.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Eden Valley Community Center, Farson. Larry Metz will officiate.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Eden Valley Cemetery, Farson.
