Helen V. Wilcox
Rock Springs - Helen V. Wilcox, 87, of Rock Springs, died February 6, 2013 at Willow Wood Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah of natural causes. She was a longtime resident of Rock Springs.
She was born June 19, 1925 in Red Lodge, Montana, the daughter of Albert and Anna Yakovich Kruzich.
She attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1943.
She worked for the Union Pacific Railroad during the war, hauling oil in buckets for the engines. She also had worked for Mountain Bell as an operator, a sugar factory in San Francisco, Broadway liquors for 13 years, and as a cashier for Kmart before retiring in 1998.
She married Hank Wilcox in 1946 and was a homemaker for several years.
They later divorced in 1968.
She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
Her interests were the outdoors, fishing, camping, reading detective novels, movies, cooking, collecting and making recipe books, and spending time with her family and her little great-grandsons.
Survivors include her son Mark Wilcox and wife MaryAnn of Rock Springs; daughter Janice Tracy and husband Bob of Rock Springs; grandchildren Holly Finch, Rod Tracy and wife Tanya all of Rock Springs, and LaRee Tracy of San Diego; great-grandchildren Brandi Finch, Michael and Nicholas Tracy all of Rock Springs; sister-in-law and dear life long friend Marble Kruzich of Casper, Wyoming; nephews Carl and Martin Kruzich of Casper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Fred Kruzich, William Kruzich and great-granddaughter Kari Finch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway, Rock Springs. Rev. Arnel Raboy will officiate.
A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the church.
Inturment will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery, Rock Springs.
