Kenai, Alaska – Irene Fay Bilyeu, 80, of Kenai, Alaska died Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Central Peninsula General Hospital following a short illness. She resided at the Heritage Place Nursing Home for the last four years.
Irene was born February 23, 1926 in Kansas the daughter of Joseph Marion and Oda Viola Bland Morford. She married Roy Earl Bilyeu on November 19, 1944 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1997.
She was a former resident of Red Desert, Wyoming and moved to Rock Springs in 1995 and then she moved to Alaska in 1997.
Her interests included her rabbits, gardening, her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children.
Survivors include two daughters, Roena Fay “Randi” Menapace and husband Robert,, and Barbara Jean Hall of Rock Springs; two sons, Daniel Leroy Bilyeu and wife Sandra; and Gail Lynn Bilyeu both of Kenai, Alaska; sister, Betty Brouse of Gladeparks, Colorado; brother, Jim Morford of Montrose, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Russ, Sam, Wendy, Teresa, Jim, Savannah, and Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Austyn, Deavon, and Hazen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Bilyeu, three sons, Roy Jr., Randy, and Thomas; sister, Minerva; and two brothers, Arthur and Glen Morford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs, where friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday.
Interment will take place at Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
