Jack James Rock Springs - Jack James, 87, of Rock Springs died Friday, June 24, 2011 at Sage View Convalescent Center in Rock Springs after a lengthy illness. He was born June 5, 1927 in Rock Springs, the son of Hugh James and Ethel Eliza Armstrong James He married Ethel Lou Pratt in 1955 in Cheyenne. She preceded him in death in 1972. He married Roxanne Broyles July 31, 2001 in Reliance. He attended schools in Rock Springs. In his earlier years, he was a cowboy and ranch foreman. He worked as an outfitter and guide for Big Sandy Lodge, drove trucks for various companies including Yellowstone Wholesale and Coca Cola. He owned and operated Exxon and Mobile gas stations in Rock Springs. Later he worked for Heavin Construction and then janitor for the Eagles Lodge. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Fraternal Order No. 151 and served as PWP. His interests were camping, fishing, hunting, being involved with the Eagles Lodge and spending time with his friends and family. Survivors include his wife Roxanne of Rock Springs; sons Tom James and wife Jody of Rock Springs, Bill Green and wife Jean of Manor, Texas; daughter Roberta Vaughan and husband Bill of Rock Springs; son-in-law Jerry Uranker and companion Betty Tinsley of Rock Springs; grandchildren Dedi, Jerry, Bill, Robbie, Rieder, Chance, Amber, Carma, Diane, Mitch and Laura; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel, daughter Celia Uranker, grandsons Michael Uranker and Eric Fromm, sister Thelma James and Genevieve Gilbert, brother Thomas James. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday June 28, 2011 and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment with honors by the Fraternal Order of Eagles will take place at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
