James Harold Jones

James Harold Jones Green River - James Harold Jones, 85, of Green River died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a short illness. He was born January 11, 1924 in Ranger, Texas, the son of Andrew Leroy Jones and Carrie Belle Anderson Jones. He attended schools in Texas. He married Medhie Wong June 21, 1982 in Manila, Philippines. James had been employed as a welder and pipefitter for Local 192 for the last 45 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Eagles Fraternal Order of Green River. He was also a member of the Monroe Avenue Baptist Church of Green River. His interests were hunting, fishing, the Wyoming countryside and his family. Survivors include his wife, Medhie Jones of Green River; son, James Arnette Jones of Parker, Arizona; daughters, Gina Gardner of Oregon and Sue Tyler of Colorado; grandchildren, Jeff, Robert, and Leslie Jones, Gypsy and Sheena Ray Gardner, James C. Call, Renda L. BeirKamp, and Shealene Gonzoles; numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Monroe Avenue Baptist Church, 295 Monroe Ave, Green River. Pastor Bob Conrad will officiate. Friends and family may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the church on Thursday, February 26, 2009 and Friday one hour prior to the services also at the church. Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River.
