James "Red" "JR" Wood

James “Red” “JR” Wood Rock Springs - James "Red" "JR" Wood , 80 of Rock Springs, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River after a lengthy illness. He was born February 11, 1928 in Comanche, Oklahoma, the son of James Roy and Esther V. Griffith Wood. He attended schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Addington High School with the class of 1946. Mr. Wood served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He married Betty Faye Kielty on November 5, 1956 in Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2003. He had been employed for Haliburton for over 30 years. His interest were woodworking, gardening, traveling, and bike restoring. Survivors include daughter, Fawn Desanti of Rock Springs, and stepdaughter, Ginney Rollins and husband Russ of Green River; one sister, Valeria Horscher and husband Howard of Temple, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Tiffany Novelo and husband Ramon of Grand Junction, Colorado, Amorette Nichole Hinderaker and husband James of Fargo, North Dakota, Natasha and Courtney Magenheimer both of Rock Springs; one grandson, Tristin Novelo of Grand Junction; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wood, parents and one brother, Clinton Wood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2008 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way where friends may call 5-7 pm Sunday December 14, 2008 and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will take place in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
