Jay A. Walters Jr. Green River - Jay A. Walters Jr., 63, of Green River died Monday, July 30, 2012 at the University Medical Center in Salt Lake City after a lengthy illness. He was born February 19, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Jay W. Walters Sr. and Ida Mae Cowan Walters. He attended schools in Carlsbad, New Mexico and graduated from the Carlsbad High School with the class of 1966. He married Mary J. Williams March 20, 1982 in Green River. He had been employed by Integrated Power Services for 25 years. He was a member of the Sweetwater County Elk Foundation where he served as a committee member. He was a member of Monroe Avenue Baptist Church in Green River. His interests were hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife Mary J. Walters of Green River; step-mother Betty Walters of Farmington, New Mexico; sons Ed Robinson and wife Lorena of Moorcroft, Wyoming, Steve Walters and wife Bonnie of Washington State, and Wil Robinson and wife Carmen of Hopkins, Minnesota; daughter Jeannine Easton and husband Mike of Rock Springs; brother Kenny Walters and wife Sandy of Abilene, Texas; stepsister Karyn Funk of Carlsbad; one aunt Barbara Condon of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca Robinson, Rylie Sutton, Zachary Robinson, Garrett Easton, Dalton Robinson, Faith Sutton, Abigail Robinson, Rylee Easton, Gisselle Robinson, Jasmine Robinson, and adopted granddaughter Melinda Robinson; one nephew and favorite hunting partner Chris Baughman and wife Adrienne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Ida Mae Walters Sr., and brother David Walters. Cremation has taken place Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Monroe Avenue Baptist Church, 295 Monroe Ave., Green River. Pastor Bill Morris will officiate.
